This is a great interactive activity to use as part of an animal unit. It's a fun way for kids to learn more about specific animals and review the terms carnivore, herbivore and omnivore.
In this activity, students are provided with three headings and 12 paragraph cards. Each card tells about a specific animal and its eating habits. Based on the information on the card, students need to decide if the given animal is a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore. They are then asked to place the paragraph under the appropriate heading. Students need to recall the definition of each vocabulary word in order to place the cards in the correct spot.
I like to use this activity as a center. I have the headings and cards laminated in a folder for safe keeping. An answer sheet is provided so that students can self check. I have this answer sheet attached to the back of the folder.
I have other great animal unit resources in the science section of my store! Check them out!
