Using the tree as a guide helps students break down the problem of hunger and food insecurity. It allows them to think through the problem and come up with solutions. This activity can be used by itself with students working individually, in a group, or even as a class. It can also be used as part of a interactive student notebook. By completing the tree and the foldable activity students can use them both as a review for the quiz and a visual for the concepts. It allows students to read and discuss the information as well as draw connections in their brains to be able to retrieve the information during the quiz.
