This file contains the student instructions for developing a food truck business pitch presentation (PowerPoint), a rubric for grading the project, evaluation sheets that the students fill out as they watch the presentations, and reflection for after the presentations. In this project students explain their business concept, develop a presentation, use persuasive techniques to sell their idea, and evaluate the pitches of their classmates.
For this section of the project I have the students prepare a presentation with the instructions provided. Then the students take turns presenting to the class. I usually invite 2-3 "guest investors" aka adults from the school or community to come observe. I usually give the guest investors about $20,000 (pretend money) to allocate to whichever food truck they like. The students then each have $5,000 to invest in 1 food truck of their choosing. I total up all of the money and the group that gets the most money gets extra credit on the project.
This is part of a semester long project I use for my Introduction to Business and Marketing class. This project can stand alone or can be completed as part of the bundle. If you do not use the other resources with this project you will need to allocate more time for students to come up with their business concept. I like to have students work in groups of 3, but this project could be done individually or with a partner.
With this project you can pick and choose sections or SAVE $$$ by purchasing the project as a whole (Food Truck Simulation Semester Project
