In this project students will work as a group to outline a social media campaign for a food truck business. Campaigns will include: target audience, goals, paid promotions, how they will get followers, and social media account management. As a group they will also create a social media posting schedule including dates, times, and topics they will post about. Individually students will be assigned a form of social media to create posts for. These social media forms include: Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Students will use the free website Canva to design these posts. Post information will vary based on their assigned social media platform. This project should take a few days of class to complete, approximately 3, 90-min class periods or longer depending upon class instruction.
This product includes: project instructions with a group and individual portion, group and individual grading rubric, and sample individual and group project to use for modeling or to get an idea of expected student work. I use this assignment with my Introduction to Business and Marketing course, but it could also be used in a Marketing, Advertising, or Business Communications class. I have my students complete this Social Media Campaign for a food truck business, however, you could change the premise and have students complete the project for any business concept.
I do a semester long project where students create a food truck business and write a Business Plan, Marketing Plan, Financial Plan, etc. for the business.
