Food Vocabulary II is a great tool for ESOL, ESE, and primary grade level students to assist with learning English words for several types of food.
What’s included?
Picture lists are included.
The list sheets have words and pictures across from each other and are intended for someone to point to the picture and ask "What is this?" This allows the student to see the word separate from the picture, but still close to it. They can also be folded in half, glued, and cut to make a vocabulary flash card. (Before you start to do this though, you may want to look at what else is included.)
Picture with word cards are included.
The cards were made for the student to cut out and tell the food (or drink) on the cards for practice. The word is written under the item, so he can see it too.
Picture and/or word flash cards are included.
These cards were made to ask the student to identify the given food or the word. The words can be printed on the back of the picture cards to provide a more common flash card format with the picture on one side and the word on the other. (I have found students enjoy using these to play match games with too!)
The following 29 words are included: bread, cake, cheese, crackers. fish, fried shrimp, fruit, gelatin, groceries, hamburger, hot dog, lasagna, lobster, milkshake, omelets, pie, pizza, potatoes, pudding, punch, salad, shish kabob, rice, soda, steak, soup, sundae, sushi, tea, and vegetables.
