Food Vocabulary Interactive Game is a PDF game that can be played in Adobe Reader. Why PDF? So, you can pull it up on many devices. Students simply choose the correct answer to the picture of food and click on the word. If their choice is correct, they will receive a page that congratulates them while another page is shown to encourage them to try again. I find this to be great for ESOL, ESE, and Primary students.
I think this is a wonderful tool for any size group from one to an entire class. If you do play as a whole group, you may want to create teams or take turns as the "clicker."
The whole game is clickable and works similar to Microsoft Powerpoint since it is a presentation or slideshow type format. Once downloaded, you can open it and begin to play. It may ask to open this file to full screen; this is the best way to play. (If this doesn't pop up and you're using Adobe Acrobat, you can click on the View option at the top and then click on Full Screen Mode.)
The 24 words practiced are: apple, bananas, bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, chocolates, corn, cucumbers, egg, grapes, ice cream, lettuce, macaroni, milk, orange, orange juice, pineapple, pumpkin, salad, star fruit, strawberries, tomatoes, turkey, and watermelon.
