This is a viewing guide that accompanies the PBS video "Food for the Ancestors" about the holiday Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, with strategic blanks placed throughout so that students can fill in the information as they watch. This keeps students engaged and prevents them from sleeping or doing work for other classes.
The transcript goes about halfway into the video (approx. the first 30 minutes). I originally typed it for the benefit of a student who was hearing impaired, since it was a VHS with no option for captions, and then I went back later and added the blanks to turn it into a worksheet. Perfect for a sub plan or a rainy day!
