This game lets students practice their fluency strategies (including slow rate, light contact, easy starts, and pausing) 2 different ways! One way is traditional game board style, and the other is a football field game board. It comes with both game boards plus a dice template to make your own dice.
Game board - Roll dice and move the correct amount of spaces. Draw a helmet card. Answer the question using the strategy indicated on the space. Follow the directions on the wild cards.
Football Field - Each person puts their game piece at the opposite edge of the field. On each turn, move 10 yards and draw a question card. Answer the question with the indicated strategy. Follow directions on the wild cards. The first person to make it to the opposite side is the winner.
Four types of responses are elicited with the helmet cards (8 of each) how questions, tell me questions, conditional (if, then) questions, and pretending questions. There are 32 helmet cards, 8 wild cards, and 8 blank cards to write in your own questions!
It also includes a blank game board, football pacing strips, and 2 fluency strategy worksheets!
This game can easily be adapted for artic kids working on saying their sounds in conversation as well.
