Are you ready for some football?
How about a fun way for your students to practice the skill of comparing and ordering decimals? Try the math activity on this file perfect for those months before, during, and after the football season. Just print and play!
Three different sets of recording sheets and game cards are included on this file. I prefer to use the first set as an introductory, whole-class activity, and then use the second and third sets as a learning center for the remainder of the season or month. An additional file with Sets 4, 5, & 6
is available for purchase to extend the fun well into the season.
This whole-class activity or learning center is perfect during any month of the school year. Students play by solving problems on game cards or recording sheets, as determined by the amount of time the teacher has available in preparation for this fun activity. Once a problem has been solved, students then self-check their answers using the provided answer keys, and if correct, they roll dice to determine a football action. These football actions can range from shorts runs and completed passes, to sacks and interceptions, to field goals and touchdowns!
This file contains:
●suggested procedures and management for both methods of play (whole-class and learning center)
●2 Football Frenzy game boards… they differ only in the color of footballs.
●2 dice charts, one with 11 different football outcomes, one with 6 different football outcomes
●2 paper-clip spinners, one with 11 different football outcomes, one with 6 different football outcomes
