I created this product because I needed a quick way to assess how well my students could measure to the nearest sixteenth of an inch. I teach Saxon math at a private school, so we don’t use Common Core standards, but this product can be used in classrooms that use CCSS.
How to Use
You can use these task cards as a SCOOT activity, or you can put the cards on a ring at a center. I taped them up around my room because I like for my kiddos to be up and moving while they work. It keeps their bodies in motion.
How is this product differentiated?
Simply use different recording sheets! I included recording sheets for students to measure to the nearest
PLUS a blank recording sheet for whatever measurement you are teaching
*If you are teaching students to measure to the nearest 1/2 inch, you could use the 1/8 measurement recording sheets for higher-level students and the nearest inch measurement recording sheets for lower-level learners.
You can use 14 cards for a shorter activity. If you use only 14 cards, simply copy the front of the recording sheet with numbers 1-14 on it.
You can use one (or more) cards over multiple days as an exit slip for a quick formative assessment.
Answer keys are included for all measurements for easier and faster grading!
