The Force and Motion First Grade Science Interactive Notebook is a note-taking system for inquiry-based teaching and learning. It is truly an engaging and hands-on way to satisfy the State of Virginia Standards of Learning for First Grade Science 1.2, which state that “The student will investigate and understand that moving objects exhibit different kinds of motion. Key concepts include: a) objects may have straight, circular, and back-and-forth motions; b) objects may vibrate and produce sound; and c) pushes or pulls can change the movement of an object.” In this notebook early learners write and illustrate their predictions and conclusions; record experiment results; respond to discussion questions; annotate; highlight; and show hands-on activities and experiments, which are included. The Force and Motion First Grade Science Interactive Notebook may supplement your science text and teacher edition, or it may be used as the basis for developing lesson plans as a part of a thematic unit. It makes the topic of Force and Motion fun and active. Please visit my store for products that accompany this notebook, namely the study guide and assessments.
I enjoy teaching this unit and using this notebook. When I am excited to teach a topic, my students are likewise excited and eager to participate. We always have fun with this unit. Hope you and your students will enjoy it, too.
