Included in this set are four activities designed to meet the NGSS third grade standard for force and motion:
-Plan and conduct an investigation to provide evidence of the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the
motion of an object.
-Make observations and/or measurements of an object’s motion to provide evidence that a pattern can be used to
predict future motion.
The labs and activities included are as follows:
-Making Generalizations (Ramp Stations)
-Engineering for Good (STEM)
-Pompom Paint Shooter
All of the labs are hands-on and third grade friendly. The labs require some materials, but most of them are common classroom objects. You will need wood planks for ramps for two of the labs, though. The labs can be completed in groups, individually, in pairs, or as a whole group depending on your specific classroom needs. Each lab includes the materials needed, directions, and reflection questions. Some labs also have activity sheets where needed.
