Students will best understand the concept of force and motion when they can view that any force is simply a push or a pull. Students in this activity will determine which direction an object will move in, depending upon whether it’s a push or a pull. Using a marble and a paper clock face, students determine when they naturally use a push or a pull to put a still object (the marble) into motion.
Activity includes directions, student handouts, a clock template, and a question page to deepen students' understanding of their exploration and how it pertains to their everyday life.
