Included in this packet are 3 close reading sets to add to your forces and motion unit. Use them to delve deeply into Newton's Laws of Motion, Forces on a Rocket and Electromagnets.

To accompany each of the three texts are:
- an essential question
- standards-based, DOK aligned questions
- sample anchor charts
- journal question to conclude the close reading process

Each text is designed to last a week! In addition to teaching RI 3.1 through 3.8, these passages align to NGSS standards for forces and interaction (3-PS2-1 and 3-PS2-3) .

3-PS2-1: Plan and conduct an investigation to provide evidence of the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of an object.

3-PS2-3: Ask questions to determine cause and effect relationships of electric or magnetic interactions between two objects not in contact with each other.
