In this assignment, students select one of the forces of nature (gravity, magnetism, electricity, radiation) and create their own timeline of major events/discoveries. They then create a class timeline (or their own individual timeline on the sheet given) that shows how the progression of discoveries in every science field are interrelated.
This assignment addresses the processing standard discussing how science is an ever evolving field of study. The gallery walk really gets students up an moving around the classroom.
They then relate how scientific discoveries shape history (i.e. Fusion and the Atomic Bomb or Combustion and the Race to Space).
