MORE FORENSIC FILES! – CLICK HERE!

This purchase is for a bundle assignment of worksheets for the TV show FORENSIC FILES (currently FREE on YouTube).

Included are 10 worksheets for various episodes. Ease of access to the videos makes them great for in-class, computer lab, extra credit, or homework assignments since most students will have access to the programs through a variety of technology.

The question sheets go in order through each episode with a focus on the science behind each case as well as the legal circumstances. I try to provide a variety of episodes to give students a wide range of ideas on how the career of a forensic scientist works. The episodes I have chosen are perfect for high school age and I do try to avoid certain adult aspects which I do not feel are appropriate for students. So rest assured that each episode is perfect for ages 14-18.

The episodes included with BUNDLE #9 (with their season and episode number) are:

Funeral Services (Season 14, Episode 20)
A 13-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Texas had to use multiple forensic methods to determine which of three likely suspects killed the owner of a local funeral home.

Home Evasion (Season 13, Episode 9)
A 14-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists had to use forensic evidence to determine if a husband killed his wife, if it was murder for hire, or simply an incredible act of random violence.

No Corpus Delicti (Season 9, Episode 4)
A 13-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Colorado used found hair samples and a volunteer search organization to help close a decade old case on a woman’s disappearance.

One for the Road (Season 10, Episode 7)
A 13-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Florida used surveillance video and GPS to determine if a woman’s disappearance was murder and where the crime actually took place.

Purebread Murder (Season 14, Episode 1)
A 13-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists had to use numerous evidence including hamburger buns to identify a killer when they had three possible suspects. (great example episode)

Reel Danger (Season 7, Episode 3)
A 13-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how a landmark case in Connecticut was the first time police and forensic scientists used microscopic diatoms to match crime scene evidence to a pond where two young boys were viciously beaten.

Sign Here (Season 8, Episode 4)
A 14-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic handwriting analysts in California identified a killer who used a number of techniques to hide her true identity.

Southside Strangler (Season 1, Episode 6)
A 13-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting the historic case of the Southside Strangler and how police and forensic scientists used DNA for the very first time in a United States crime. *contains strong images

Telltale Tracks (Season 7, Episode 20)
A 14-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Philadelphia used tire tracks and burn marks on a victim’s body to catch a murderer.

Video Diary (Season 5, Episode 18)
A 14-question worksheet to accompany this video documenting how police and forensic scientists in Lansing, Michigan used video surveillance and equipment used on the Hubble Space Telescope to solve the murder of a convenience store worker.

Questions on the assignment go in order and will help students remain focused on key science topics. Two extended response questions are on the back of the worksheet (description and compare/contrast) which are perfect for reflection and discussion at the conclusion of the video. All worksheets are provided as MS-Word documents so you can edit as needed. Answer sheets are not provided.

A power point is also provided with 10 additional writing prompt questions (one per episode) that go beyond those provided on the worksheet.

I hope you and your students find this purchase useful and it gives them great insight into the important field of forensics. Please check my TPT store for additional Forensic Files worksheets and bundles.

Thank you for your purchase and for taking the time to leave me positive feedback.
