Students analyze, in-depth, a real double murder case. Students answer analysis questions pertaining to physical evidence and speculate on how evidence was transferred to the victims. 5 critical thinking, analysis questions are included, along with a student, helpful hints page, a rubric and answer key. In addition, a more scaffolded version is included.
I used the scaffolded version with students in an alternative education school. The more essay style assignment takes my forensics students a week of class time to complete because it involves so much critical thinking.
This video on YouTube - forensics files - discusses the case: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WVCQLntttww
"Threads and Treads". I show this to my students after they have turned in the assignment.
