Product Description

This forest quadrant map reading analysis activity is ideal for an environmental science, field ecology, forestry, or a natural resources course in agriculture or in science. It could also be utilized in an ecology unit in biology.

This activity includes two near full-page mock maps of a fifty square-yard forest quadrant that depicts the trees of the canopy and the understory, respectively. Trees are symbolized according to the legends. The students’ task is to answer twenty questions on a full-page document. The questions cover the topics of distribution, abundance, plant succession, invasive exotic species, habitat preference of species, layers of vegetation, other biotic factors, and tree classification. A couple of the questions are open-ended. I included a two-page answer key with the answers in bold, red font. This document is editable.

I offer dozens of quality-based, field-tested, often innovative, practical, and user-friendly science products for several fields of science - biology, chemistry, field ecology, physical science, earth science, and human anatomy and physiology.

I began launching my curriculum through TpT in 2018. I have over twenty years of teaching and curriculum writing experience as the department head. I joined TpT with seventeen years of publishing experience through several international science supply corporations.
