2 mini books (informational readers) to teach your primary students about forest animals and the forest habitat. The first mini book is called Who Lives in the Forest and is a counting book. Students will count how many of each forest animal is on each page. The last page has students trace each of the animal's names. The next booklet is called At Home in the Forest. Students will stack the booklet pages on top of the background of a tree. Each booklet page gives a basic fact about the animals that live in the forest. There is also a cut and paste worksheet for students to sort forest animals and non-forest animals. To assemble the mini books just copy and cut apart. The preview shows all the pages in the file.
These would work well for guided reading, small groups, literacy centers or whole group.
