After completing a beach visualization activity I found online, my students begged for more of these activities. This activity is perfect for a spring or fall day when the windows are open in the classroom. Simply turn off the lights in the classroom, and slowly read the script giving the students plenty of time to visualize the scenes they are creating in their minds.
Afterwards, extend the activity by giving students time to write about their visualization experience. This activity is great for developing sensory writing and increasing the amount of detail in students' writing.
