This 47 page document contains 12 complete lesson plans which include aims, do-nows, instructional objectives, activities, and more. They are for the text Forged by Fire written by Sharon Draper. If you read, or had your students read, Tears of a Tiger, this text is the author's follow-up.
For your convenience, should you use overheads or give handouts to your students, after each lesson plan is the corresponding student version of the lesson (so objectives etc are not on it and it is in a larger text size / more room is between each line.) I find it useful to print on an overhead and hand copies out to the students. Feel free to do the same.
Additionally, there is a decent amount of non-fiction included. Poems, songs, and short non-fiction pieces used in the lessons are included so you can print and hand them out to the students.
Activities include asking questions of the text and writing a persuasive paper. The only things I couldn't include were the one or two things I refer to that require video (I show them a Punky Brewster episode- all of the details are there in case you'd like to do the lesson the same way. If not, please replace with something you like or find more accessible.)
I hope you enjoy these lessons as much as I did.
