This document is meant to be used as a screening assessment for writing. I administer it to students once per quarter so that they can see their progress and so that I can compare their progress to the proficiency targets for the course and to their classmates. It includes instructions for administering the assessment and six different leveled rubrics that match ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. It is meant to be used with a visual prompt, and the link to one is provided.
