Coaches, as you know, one of the best ways to help teachers focus on what you are modeling is to give them a "look for" form to jot down what they see you and the students doing during a lesson. These forms are important for after coaching conversations and in helping teachers implement the strategies and/or best practices observed.

This document contains four pages.
Pages one and two are dedicated to having teachers observe how to implement of best practices.
Teacher-Led Learning: teachers will observe and jot down notes related to how the coach uses one or more best practices with students and the teacher will also use the form to collect evidence of student learning and engagement.
Student-Led Learning (Facilitative Teaching): teachers will observe and jot down notes related to how the coach demonstrates using facilitative learning approaches. The teacher will also gather evidence of student learning and engagement. Really, you want to get teachers in the habit of looking for what you look for when you walk classes, evidence of learning to promote teachers creating lessons that demonstrate observable learning that they can use to gather formative assessment data to act on as needed.

Teacher-Led Learning: teachers will observe and jot down notes related to how the coach introduces a strategy or strategies to students and the teacher will also use the form to collect evidence of student learning and engagement.
Student-Led Learning (Facilitative Teaching): teachers will observe and jot down notes related to how the coach helps students become proficient at using a strategy or strategies. The teacher will also gather evidence of student learning and engagement. Really, you want to get teachers in the habit of looking for what you look for when you walk classes, evidence of learning to promote teachers creating lessons that demonstrate observable learning that they can use to gather formative assessment data to act on as needed.
