Teaching students how to present their scientific findings is a great way to teach them how to organize their thoughts, support their comments with evidence, and even utilize things they learn in their English language arts class like researching and citing sources.
It can be difficult for students to take on the monumental task of creating a formal lab report, so this template is already formatted in an APA Style-esque format. Students can download this and type their information into all the spaces that are bracketed [ ]. I have included instructions in the brackets as to what the students should include in that section. With the formatting already done for them, all of their reports should come out organized and easy to understand. You can also insert a plain line border around the document and print out 4 sheets per page, and have the students cut out each page and staple them like a book. This way students have this to reference throughout the whole year.
This is a great way to start introducing and preparing students for the demands of college science courses.
