Simply print these out on cardstock, laminate, and hole punch in the corner. Slip a binder clip through the holes and have the students leave on their desks throughout the day!
I use them in a variety of ways:
1. During independent work, have the students leave these on their desks. You can quickly see how many students understand and who you need to meet with.
2. Use during the goal portions of your lesson plan--at the beginning to get a feel of what the students know before the lesson and at the end to help you understand how the students are feeling about the goal.
3. If you see that there are a few students who are all on red, pull them to a back table and you can better guide them through the work.
4. Use the cards to make groups--pair a green with a red or a yellow.
