Do you enjoy having your students work in group? Are your students becoming unmotivated by always working in the same groups?
This method of grouping students will ensure that your groups are different and it allows you to control the group sizes effectively.
Simply download the PDF and print out the tags onto card. Allocate one card per student and write their name in the center. (This set is for a class of 24 students and multiple cards can be printed for larger class sizes).
When you wish to put the students into groups you can decide the groups based on the number of students you need in each group.
Groups will form as the following:
Colour of the border (blue or orange) = Pairs
Number = Groups of 3
Animals = groups of 4
Colours = Groups of 6
For example, if you want groups of 4 you will ask them to move into their animals groups, all of the elephants in one group, all of the tigers in another etc.
This technique saves a lot of class time and is incredibly effective.
An alternative use would be to ask them to get into groups groups so that only one member of each 'picture' exists.
For example, get into animal groups so that each group has only 1 elephant, 1 bird, 1 fish etc.
There are MANY MANY grouping possibilities by using this effective technique and you will find you save time so that the students have more time to work together in their groups.
