This set reinforces the Common Core standard of forming simple, compound, and complex sentence. To use as a group activity with 2-4 students: Students will select a card and determine if the sentence is formed correctly. He or she will place the card under the correct sorting header. If the student is correct in their answer, they place a chip (or penny) on a blank circle on their picture. When the cards have all been sorted, students choose incorrect sentences to rewrite correctly on the recording sheet. This can be used as a center activity by individual students by just sorting the cards and rewriting five of them correctly.
