Categorizing Forms of Business Ownership Graphic Organizer
: Through this activity students will compare and contrast the three primary types of business ownership: sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporation. Students are given two sheets of paper: one with characteristics of different forms of business ownership to cut into slips and one with a grid for sorting. Students will cut out each slip and position them in the grid to create a graphic organizer. After each slip has been placed you should have students check their answers before having students glue or tape slips into the correct box. Then, ask students why each slip was placed in each category.Forms of Business Ownership Gallery Walk
: Get your students moving with an interactive way to have a discussion about forms of business ownership! If you're not familiar with the idea a gallery walk is essentially where students to move around the room to complete a task. This product contains 10 discussion questions on forms of business ownership for a high school business class. Tape the slides (product is in Microsoft PowerPoint) around the room and have students work with a small group or partner to walk around the room and write answers to discussion questions with a dry erase marker or have students use post-its to record answers if you're short on board space. At the conclusion of the activity, the teacher should hold a discussion on student responses to discussion questions.Topics covered in this activity:Sole proprietorshipsPartnershipsCorporationsFranchises
