PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This file includes both a student recording page and a handout page (not pictured in thumb nails) listing the populations of Texas cities. For the activity, students are to choose 15 Texas cities from the handout page to work with. The student will write the name of the city and the population in standard form (given on the handout). Then they will write the population in word form, expanded notation, and one other way that the number can be decomposed (broken down).

The student recording page provides an example for students.

This activity could be used as a partner activity, small group lesson, independent practice, assessment, homework, or reteach.
