So I finally caved and did the deed of playing and learning about Fortnite for my students. It's really fun, and so I decided to create a throwing activity that involves teamwork and tactics with a highly engaging theme. This can be modified easily to not be "Fortnite" themed and you can create your own signs of non-guns (maybe generic blasters, cannons, catapults, etc) instead of what I used for the thrown balls/objects. I like to keep it authentic for my students.
Directions are included. The gist is that students are solo or in teams of 2-4 (your choice based on class sizes), and students have to keep their avatar/character. They go to the resources (wood, brick, metal to build protection around their avatar), items to throw at other avatars, and items that allow them to repair their fort or pick up their pin.
Gameplay is essentially endless as they can repair their forts and revive their team avatar. I have no doubt your students will absolutely love this activity! Reach out if you need any help!
