Product Description
Texas History students read an excerpt of Alonso de Leon's expedition to find La Salle's settlement at Fort St. Louis during the Age of Exploration, answer 9 questions, and complete one creative task. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--Why did La Salle leave the fort in search of the MS river? Why might he not have waited for a French solution?
--Where did de Leon and his men find the remains of Ft. St. Louis?
--Explain the meaning of “principal house.” What do you think that house might have been?
--de Leon notes that the settlement was situated to be defensible regardless of event, so why, or how, do you think the Natives overpowered and massacred the French?
