Fortune Teller Speaking Activity for Spanish School Vocabulary (La Escuela)
This 4-slide PowerPoint gives instructions on how to complete a fortune teller (also called a Cootie Catcher or Comecocos de Papel) in Spanish that can be used for partner speaking practice. The PowerPoint can be projected using a SmartBoard, LCD projector, overhead projector, etc or it could be printed out. Complete teacher and student instructions are shown.
1. Teacher directs students how to fold a fortune teller (picture and video link included)
2. Students fill in the folded fortune teller with Spanish colors, numbers, and questions using the instructions on Slide 3.
3. In pairs, student A chooses a color and number which determines the question they are asked. (Instructions on Slide 4) Student B answers the question in Spanish. Questions are related to school vocabulary: class schedules, teacher names, etc.
Questions are editable to fit your school's classes and schedule.
