This is a question and answer slide show that I project onto my classroom whiteboard. I photographed the 8 fossils I have in my classroom:
3. Petrified Wood
4. Megalodon Tooth
6. T. Rex tooth
7. Apatosaurus bone
8. Amber with trapped insects
Every fossil photograph has a question on the slide asking students if they can either figure out what the fossil is or what the fossil is related to. The questions are in multiple choice format with 3 possible answers to choose from. The slides also have hints on them to help the children figure out the correct answer. I use this with my Dinosaur and Fossils unit (also offered here on TpT). I've also added the same set of slides WITHOUT the hints in case they are too easy for your students. There is a worksheet to go along with the slide show asking students to make good observations and describe what they see. I've also included a worksheet entitled "How Do Fossils Form" which is from my Dinosaurs and Fossils packet.
This is a great way to get everyone's brain working - the fossils are all fascinating ancient creatures and the answer pages have an interesting fact about each creature.
The whole class gets involved in this guessing game slide show, it is educational and fun for all!
