Ready for a fossils lesson that's meaningful and fun? After a little folding, cutting, coloring, sketching, and describing (in their own words), your students will end up with a very informative booklet that describes the 5 ways fossils (amber, asphalt, ice, rock, and petrified) are made.
There are 5 main ways that fossils are made. The included PowerPoint will guide your students how to fold and cut a sheet of paper into a 5-page booklet. After getting the cover page titled ("5 Ways Fossils Form") and decorated, we'll do the first 1 or 2 methods of fossil formation with your students. For each fossil method (amber, asphalt, ice, rock, and petrified) we'll have a title, a simple drawing of an animal that's been fossilized, and then the steps that it took for the fossil to occur. After doing those first 1 or 2 together, they'll finish the last 3 ways fossils are made on their own.
As with all other PowerPoints, feel free to change any text about fossils you wish so that it's more user-friendly for you.
