This 48 slide power point includes the following:
* A quick review of what a verb is and how the endings -ed and -ing change the tense of the verb.
* The spelling rules for adding -ed and -ing to a verb.
* Practice adding -ed and -ing to a verb.
* An exit ticket to check understanding.
The presentation gives explanations and examples and then students have an opportunity to practice adding endings on paper or a personal white board. I have them use their white board and then show me their answer when I say, "Show Me". This helps keep the lesson moving along and the students engaged.
An I can statements is included along the way so that students know what the target is that they are working on. This also keeps administrators happy! :) (The target for this lesson is listed at the bottom of this description.)
The last slide is an exit ticket with 10 words that need to have either -ed or - ing added. These words check the students understanding of the spelling rules. An answer key to the exit ticket is included and it is followed by extra practice (if needed).
If you use Ready Gen Realize this power point teaches the foundational skills for Unit 1A lessons 1-5
