Included in this file are question builders for four skills found to prepare students for success with more complex Common Core Reading Standards.
Each interactive (fillable) question builder guides students in generating questions that require them to apply a specific reading skill (making inferences, supporting inferences, understanding text structure, and understanding narrator's point of view).
Question builders require students to use Bloom's highest levels while creating questions and correct and incorrect answer choices.
Student-generated questions with answer choices allow teachers to "see" what students are thinking while applying skills.
Differentiate with other question builders (one for almost every Common Core standard!), or use leveled text with question builders to differentiate by text level.
Integrate virtually any text into question builders; connect reading with all other content-area texts.
Since question builders mimic standardized test questions, students see reading tests from behind the scenes and become experts in test-like questioning techniques.
Question builders are perfect for use with individual students, cooperative groups, guided reading, literature circles, and as a whole-class activity.
Ideal for literacy centers.
Students can complete, save, e-mail, or print. Question builders can also be used as a pencil-paper or reading journal activity.
Great for use with homeschool, special education, ELL, or advanced/gifted learners.
