This is a 29 slide, animated, power point presentation on the political battles between the Federalists and Anti-Federalists in the late 1700's. Each of the slides are editable so you may adjust the presentation as required.
In 1783, the war was over but the country was very week and its ability to survive was questionable. There was no effective government in place to meet the needs of a growing country. The Articles of Confederation were not working and it was clear.
At the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention, the Federalists and Anti-Federalists locked horns over the whether it is better to “update” the Articles of Confederation or write a new constitution. The federalist and the Anti-Federalist debated on the proper way forward for the country.
This power point covers the key differences in the thinking of the Federalists, who wanted a strong federal government and the Anti-federalists who did not. In the end, the United States had a new Constitution that is in effect until this day.
