I used to lecture on and on about the Articles of Confederation. I would give the facts, and my students would memorize them, but there was little critical thinking involved. All that changed when I learned to flip the lesson, put the learning in the hands of my students, and give them the opportunity to grow in their research, argumentation, discussion, and debate skills!
