All of this information comes from:
Fountas and Pinnell’s “The Continuum of Literacy Learning.” The Italics mean that the information is being introduced at that level.
These questions are created to assist you during your guided
reading groups and were students are headed in the future. Each reading level has specific questions that are designed to help them better understand and critically think about the text they are reading. These questions go hand-in-hand with Common Core because the students will be finding evidence in the text to support their response to reading.
Use this 3-page checklist to keep track of which skills each of your students have mastered. By using this list you will know when a student is ready to move up to the next guided reading level.
This checklist is perfect for conferring with students and easy look fors during guided reading. I have this checklist printed for each student in my conferring binder. I keep the first 2 pages (levels A - V) printed on one page, front and back in students data folders. There are 3 different design options! All of the checklists are exactly the same.
Every teacher would benefit from a copy of these in their Guided Reading Binder and perfect for sharing reading information with students, parents, and teachers.
