HOW TO FOOL EVERYONE
Howdy, fellow fool. If you are not a fool, this is not a booklet for you. This is for people who want to be cool musicians, but don’t have what it takes to spend the time to learn any instrument properly. The only thing you know is a few chords on the guitar. You’d like to have a schtick to impress people, but that ain’t gonna work with your mediocre singing voice and that silly C-F-G progression on the guitar. Here’s what you do to make yourself look and sound like a cool musician instead of the useless lout everyone has grown bored with. First, you will need another person to help you. Since you will be playing chords, this person will need to play the melody. The four melodies listed here are pretty basic for most musicians. They sound good, but they are not hard to play. If you know anyone who can read music and play these four tunes, you will have it made. They should be able to play either the violin, the recorder, the squeeze box, the tin whistle, the mandolin, or some sort of reed instrument.
Meet with this person and practice for a few hours. Then the next time there is some sort of an amateur night, or a bit of entertainment necessary, or a party, or a school music night, you and your cohort can wow everyone. All you need to do is to strum the bloody guitar while the other person plays the melody. Since almost everyone is impressed by names like Mozart and Beethoven, you will be the hit of the event! You will finally achieve Cooldom!
Now, aren’t you glad you bought this little booklet?
