Building numeracy with your students is one of the goals of every math teacher. Students need to be able to recognize and identify numbers as Base-10 numbers. The cards in this set are a perfect tool for teaching students to do just that!
Each of the 56 cards in this set is a different 4-digit number. Students are asked to name the number by identifying how many pieces are in the thousands, the hundreds, the tens, and the ones places. The blocks used in the illustrations are different colors to make them easily categorized.
Each card is also numbered so that the teacher can identify which cards were used to check for accuracy. An answer key has been provided.
These cards have so many uses, they can't all be listed here. Here are just a few of the many possible options:
*Identifying the Number
*Writing the number in standard, expanded, and word form
*Rounding the number to the nearest 10, 100, or 1,000 (CCSS skill)
*Comparing the numbers on two different cards
*Ordering the numbers from least to greatest or greatest to least
*Adding two or more numbers
*Subtracting two numbers
*And so many more...
If you are looking for a perfect tool to add to your guided math toolbox or small group area, you don't want to pass this item up. It is possible that you will use these cards every single day.
