Product Description
Generalize a pattern arising from a problem-solving context, using mathematical expressions and equations, and verify by substitution

The objective of this game is to plot four points which fall in a straight line on a Cartesian coordinate system.

On a turn a player rolls both dice. The blue die represents the x-coordinate of a point, the red die the y-coordinate. The player may opt to plot the point as rolled, or may opt to alter either the x- or y- coordinate, but not both.

Either coordinate may be altered using the function boxes shown.
- The a-2 box decreases the value of the coordinate by 2
- The a+1 box increases the value of the coordinate by 1
- The 2a box doubles the value of the coordinate.

The player now plots his or her point in his or her color crayon. Players continue taking turns plotting points according to these rules until either player has positioned four points in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally. This player is the winner.

This solving equations activity is also included in my Focus On Solving Equations BUNDLE.

It can also be found in my 42 Middle School Math Games Book here on TPT!!!
