Bundle Description
Four Regions of the United States:Northeast, South, Midwest, and West Regions

As you study the four regions of the United States, have your students complete these scrapbook activities. Students will draw a picture and write a sentence for each section including landforms, water, climate, and culture. Can also be used as a note-taking guide. Each region has a four page scrapbook activity with a grading rubric.

This is an activity that goes along with my resource, Four Regions of the United States: 4 complete units, a series of four informational text packets I have created for teaching about the regions of the United States. Each region a 6-page packet that can be used as a "textbook chapter" when teaching about the four regions of the United States. In each region packet, your students will learn about the land, water, climate, products, natural resources, landmarks, and culture of the regions.

Does your curriculum divide the United States into four regions or five? I've got materials for teaching the regions both ways!! Because the United States can be divided into regions in many ways, please check to see if this version matches your standards. My materials marked “Four Regions” have the states divided this way:

South: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia
Northeast: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont
Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin
West: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming

If this version doesn’t match what you need, check my other listings for materials marked “Five Regions.”

While these materials were written to correspond to Florida's Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for 3rd grade Social Studies when I couldn't find anything else appropriate for my students, these regions units are also perfect for 4th, 5th, or 6th graders studying the four regions of the United States.

Florida Sunshine State Standards Addressed:
SS.3.G.2.2: Identify the five regions of the United States.
SS.3.G.2.3: Label the states in each of the five regions of the United States.
SS.3.G.2.4: Describe the physical features of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
SS.3.G.2.5: Identify natural and man-made landmarks in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
SS.3.G.3.1: Describe the climate and vegetation in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
SS.3.G.3.2: Describe the natural resources in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
SS.3.G.4.1: Explain how the environment influences settlement patterns in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
