Teaching about the four seasons?
It all depends on the number of hours of daylight each day and the angle of the sun striking the surface of the Earth.
After a conversation about the seasons, choose from four different activities to present the seasons.
• Create a paper spinner
that features the four seasons, choosing from three different versions, or make one of your own!
• Graph the number of hours of daylight
each month of the year. Worksheets included in this purchase are set up to make this easy.
• Shine a flashlight onto graph paper at different angles
. How many squares are covered by light that shines at 90º or 45º?
• Option: Model the angle of light
using a punched card, an overhead projector, and a globe.
• There's four different assessment
Choose the activity that fits your students best. Two student texts are included with three reading levels in English and two reading levels in Spanish. They've been recorded for students to benefit from hearing the text.
