This PowerPoint presentation provides a clear, detailed introduction to the four sentence types: simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex. It is assumed that the students have a basic knowledge of what comprises a simple sentence, i.e., an understanding that a complete sentence contains both a subject and a predicate. Furthermore, this product does not discuss modifiers, articles, verb inflections, objects and direct objects, or any other such items that might be included in a discussion of simple sentences, as this would digress from the focus of the lesson. Two review slides follow the primary content of the presentation. Example sentences
