Product Description
This ten-page close read lesson includes key, paragraph assignment, 2 CFU questions and a mastery check about tone and evidence. The objectives are "
SWBAT use close reading techniques to determine the meaning of a vignette." and
SWBAT write an ACECES paragraph about how an author uses figurative language to describe characters." I love using close reading lessons to help students deeply understand a key passage in a novel as well as develop their ability to write about literature. The students will read through several times, each time annotating for a different thing and then they will write a paragraph about how Cisneros uses figurative language to describe the characters and their environment. The only work you should have to do is create a Powerpoint to put some of the directions and the CFUs into. Lesson took about an hour to teach.
