Description
These engaging chevron posters will help your students remember the four types of sentences in either advanced or basic terms.
Each poster comes with the term in a unique color, the definition, the ending punctuation needed, an example sentence, and cute punctuation clip art telling then what type of ending punctuation is needed.
Advanced terms include:
- Declarative
- Interrogative
- Exclamatory
- Imperative
Basic terms include:
- Statement
- Question
- Exclamation
- Command
Full-color and Black & White versions are available for each poster.
A sorting activity is available for both basic & advanced terms that allows for practice. There are 12 sentences to sort along with four *EDITABLE* sentence cards for you to type in your own to suit your class' needs.
Use these in a center, for small-group reinforcement, or a whole-class lesson... there are loads of possibilities!
This packet addresses the following Common Core State Standards:
- CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.3.2 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
