Spelling can be a boring subject for students who only see it as another set of worksheets. Here is a month's worth of differentiated activites for all level of students. We begin with the approaching or student below level and move through a set of activites for the on level, above level and beyond level students. The two most difficult differentiations is the student who is well above grade level and the approaching. With these weeks of activities there are plenty of interesting and some even exciting opportunities for students to grasp the spelling lists you have for them to learn.
The activites include writing, drawing, making games, and other easy assignments that students can do self-directed. These can be used in centers, done as individual assignmentsor with a partner.
These are activities that I have used in my classroom and compiled to help make differentiation easier for those who have a range of students.
I hope they help you have a few extra tricks to spice up spelling. Deborah Kittredge
