Use to apply the Bill of Rights to students and their lives.
Task to students:
You are a Supreme Court Justice, one of the nine judges who sit on the bench in the highest court of the land. In this Court session, you and your fellow justices will hear a Fourth Amendment case involving the search of a public high school student.
Directions: Read the facts of the case as it relates to LPJ then answer the “questions to consider,” ultimately you’ll need to decide if you agree LPJ, or the school.
Students will then read the Fourth Amendment and the Facts of Case of LPJ. Students will then consider a series of questions as it relates to students, schools, and the Fourth Amendment.
Leads to great discussion!
