Writing - Students plan and write a story about another bizarre transformation similar to Camilla's change.
3) A Bad Case of Stripes - Story Mapping:
Reading - Students complete a story map of events from the story.
4) A Bad Case of Stripes - How Many Outfits? :
Math/Art - Students will use patterns to design outfits for Camilla then decide how many outifts are possible.
5) A Bad Case of Stripes - Timeline:
Social Studies - Students will create timelines of memorable events from their lives.
6) A Bad Case of Stripes - Tessellations:
Math/Art - Students will design a new patterned face for Camilla using tessellations.
7) Sylvester and the Magic Pebble - The Oatsdale Community:
Math - Students use a coordinate grid to plot points showing locations of characters from the story.
8) Sylvester and the Magic Pebble - Book Review:
Reading - Students will identify the story elements as they write a book review for the story.
9) Sylvester and the Magic Pebble - Rock Properties:
Science - Students observe and record information about the physical properties of a collection of rocks.
10) Sylvester and the Magic Pebble - Your Own Magic Pebble:
Writing - Students plan and write a story about what happens to them after finding Sylvester's magic pebble.
11) Sylvester and the Magic Pebble - Word Map:
Word Study - Students will create a word map to share about an interesting word from the story.
12) Sylvester and the Magic Pebble - Comic Strip:
Art - Students will create a comic strip of the story events.
13) The Sweetest Fig - Cafè Menu:
Math - Students will solve and write word problems using a menu from a French Cafè.
14) The Sweetest Fig - A Pet's Perspective:
Writing - Students will write about a typical day from a pet's perspective.
15) The Sweetest Fig - Story Summary:
Reading - Students will write a paragraph summarizing the story, including important story elements.
16) The Sweetest Fig - The Sweetest Vocabulary:
Word Study - Students use a dictionary to find the parts of speech and definitions of words from the story.
17) The Sweetest Fig - What is Bastille Day?:
Social Studies - Students read about Bastille Day and write a paragraph from the point of view of a French citizen.
18) The Sweetest Fig - The Story Continues...:
Art - Students work with a partner to write and act out a skit about what happens after the story is over.
